💡 This article is only relevant if you use automatic trip recording.

Location

Earning Coins with Pave Commute is easy! You just need to enable the location permission, which is required to identify your start and end locations. The "Always allow" location permission is used, as we do not want to miss any of your sustainable trips. This is how we can guarantee that all your trips are recorded, even when the app is closed. You can put your phone away and focus on driving, biking and enjoying your trip!

Motion & Fitness | Physical Activity

Motion sensors collect data such as acceleration, which improves the detection of short trips and distinctions between walking and biking as well as public transport and car trips.

Android only: Battery Optimization

Android phones and their manufacturers are notorious for restricting background tasks, which we require to identify your trip. Disabling battery optimization ensures that Pave Commute is not stopped while you are commuting.

Low power (battery saver) mode

While the low power mode extends your battery life, it prevents us from detecting your trip in the background. If you have an iPhone, your device will prompt you to enable it when the battery level drops to 15 percent, and then again at 5 percent if you still haven't turned it on. If you have an Android device your device will prompt you when your device reaches low levels. Make sure to keep your battery charged!
